We switched off the lights and other electrical appliances at home for Earth Hour 2011 just now. We lit some candles, put them on the floor in our living room and chatted about many things. This is the second time we did it at home even though I wasn’t at home when my wife and daughter did it last year as I was on the way home from the office.
Some of the lights are back on now, but we will certainly think beyond the hour on what else we can do to make a difference for our earth. It may not be directly related to this Earth Hour, but I remember this quote that I first saw at the Singapore Botanic Gardens during one of the events they had there last year. It’s a quote from the native American Indian living in a vast area of central Canada (Cree).
When all the trees have been cut down, when all the animals have been hunted, when all the waters are polluted, when all the air is unsafe to breathe, only then will you discover you cannot eat money. ~ Cree Prophecy
Have a great weekend, everyone.
