100 Strangers

100 Strangers Project – No. 3

Her name is Lis and she is no. 3 on my 100 Strangers Project. This bubbly mid twenties girl is from East Java, Indonesia. I know that the photo above does not show her bubbly side, but she is. Lis loves cooking and has lots of recipe books at home, she said.

She also makes great pineapple tart, she said and I have to agree even though I only tried the durian version of it. Yes, it’s pineapple tart with durian paste inside. 🙂

So there you go … no. 3. This project is tougher than I thought, but I will keep going. And BTW … I need a good small camera to go with me everyday in case opportunity to shoot strangers for this project appears in front of me. I can’t just go around everywhere everyday with my 1D Mark IV. My neck will scream for help. And I am thinking a micro 4/3 camera. Small enough with capability to change lenses when needed. So, let’ see. Usually, it takes me 3 – 6 months to decide when I want to buy something. 🙂

  1. Just recently found your blog. You are very talented, and I’ll enjoy returning.

I know what you mean about the micro 4/3 system attractiveness. I recently got a Lumix GF-1 as a small travel camera, because even my relatively portable D90 can get heavy with two or three lenses to haul around.

  2. Hi Hen…. It’s been a while since I last browsed your blog. First of all, congratulations with your achievements – it’s more than impressive! Your photoshoots have never stopped to amaze me, they are all postcards to me. Your snaps on people’s facial expression are second to none my friend. Keep up the great work and may you win more awards. Let’s catch up when you are back in town. Cheers.
