100 Strangers Project – No. 6

His name is Khai. He is half Indonesian, half Singaporean. He works somewhere near Orchard Road. He has cool tattoo and cool earrings as you can see here, but relax, he is my friendly stranger no. 6.

Finally, I am updating this personal project that I started a year ago. I have been bad at it but I am determined to finish this project.

I shot this with Leica M9 and the old Canon Sonnar 50mm LTM f/1.5 at f/1.5. It’s a cool old lens made in around 1955. The one I have is surprisingly still very good both physically and optically.

  1. Hi Hendra,
I don’t know whether you remember me, I was the guy from L&T working in Chevron Olympic in Manila. The guy you didn’t shout at when you were supposed to 🙂 haha.
Your work Inspires me, I think I am going to try a project like this my self. Am in Finland on a project right now, do you think it makes sense for me to try some thing like this in another country, specially when I don’t speak their language? right now I restrict my self to the busy streets and the few people who don’t seem to mind me taking a photograph of them 🙂
Also I am contemplating buying a Minolta SRT 101 or a Minolta XG 7 (don’t want to spend too much on my first film camera ( does that make sense either)).

Would Love to hear from you if you have the time.
Hope your wife and baby are well.

    Thanks,
    Josh.
